Crafters- What are you making???

I don't sew, I quilt. To me, that's fabric art, not sewing. You'd be really sorry if you asked me to make you a shirt.

I've been quilting since the mid 80's and just this year learned how to use a sewing machine.

I'm making felt food for my son right now (have finished tomato, potato, corn with husk and carrot) and am planning to do some aprons next. Unfortunately, the spool pin on my machine was lost in transit when I took my machine to my friend's house to partner sew and I am having trouble finding another at local stores. Heading to the local Hancock Fabrics this afternoon to hopefully get a new one!

OH - I almost forgot to include: my friend and I who are working on the felt food are doing the glove style hot pads next. We've talked about quilting but haven't taken a step in that direction yet. She's into crocheting and I have tried to start knitting off and on, but that's about it!

Here's a wall board (sheet rock) carving I did:

And some fabric art I did last year in Folk Art class, but am just now getting it back (she used it as an example for this year's classes):

Becky - that sheet rock carving is awesome! My sister would absolutely love it. Your folk art is cool too :)

That's awesome! I'm starting to quilt now and want to do it all by hand but I'm nervous

Don't know unless you suck it up and do it though so looks like that's what I'm going to be doing!
