Crafters- What are you making???

Pics
purr- That is beautiful!! I wish I could paint.

okiemommy- I still do have a large collection the we still play from time to time. My dad has an extreamly large collection that he sells from and makes tapes from for peoples use. Many of his are one of the last of certain records. He has a few that are THE last ones out there. I only use scratched or warped records for the record bowls, it's like the book purses-It is hard to ruin/change something that isn't messed up.

What about decorating a candle for Xmas, need a large "church" type candle, the children can paint them with a special wax paint (from a craft shop) or put lots of sparkle glitter on, or little stickers on, then wrap them in cellophane and then stick "jewels" on the cellophane, tie with ribbon and it looks lovely. We did that for a PTA fund raiser and it went down a big hit with the children.

I need a craft idea for my Cub Scouts to make for their Moms for Christmas this year. Remember, these are little kids. So far the last three years we made, masking tape colorful flower vases, pine cone snowman ornaments, and cinnamon glue ornaments. Any suggestions? Hope I'm not messing up this thread!

Great idea!! You could also use a Christmas tree candle if you can't find a church shaped candle. I have seen LOTS of those at Christmas time!

I LOVE this thread!!!!! Soooo many ideas!!! That painting is soo cool!!!! Alot of talented chicken owners on this forum!!!

Gonna heat those record albums this weekend...a bit excited about that!!! Might make some peppermint scented soap too.....

Scrambled - peppermint soap sounds wonderful. When you heat the records remember - low heat and keep an eye on them - it only takes a few minutes!

Purr - Your painting is beautiful - I can almost feel the rise and fall of the waves!

Lizards, do you have a specific temp that you put them on?`

Darlene, I want to learn how to make peppermint soap! Is it hard??

I set the oven at about 200 degrees. Watch closely - it only takes a few minutes for them to soften enough to push them down into the bowl.

No, not hard at all!! I'm using the Michael's gylcerin soap base, white pigment, peppermint scent and crushed peppermint herb (?)...I have a wooden box to pour it in, line that with plastic and it's easy to take out when it sets, cut and ready!! Easy and great smelling!! That willbe my weekend project and I'll take some pics for you.
