Tatting is done with needles....I am planning on learning to do that later.

Lace bobbins are bobbins with threads of cotton that you make lace work out of. I am still a beginner at this stage and need plenty of practice. I am hoping by Xmas I should be able to make some lace collars.

Its mentally challenging and its fun if you like macrame.

okiemommy here's one beaded one I did...

goldone.jpg

what i did is thread some beads onto a tassel looking thing i made using 1/8 inch wide gold-ish ribbon. I tied the thing to look tassel-y with gold thread. I used a dot of glue to make sure it would stay secure. then I took a long THIN wire i found in the jewlery dept at Hobby Lobby (like michaels or AC Moores) and folded it in half. Where the fold is in wire, i tied the thread into and them used the wire to pass my thread thru the egg, from the rounded bottom and out through the pointed top. I removed the wire, threaded on a bead with a dot of glue again to hold hte bead to the egg. Then i injected some glue into the bead to hold the thread to the bead too for stability of the hanging thread. I added another bead, made a good knot and made sure the loop was a good size for tree hanging. I hope this makes sense through the pic and the description...

Seems like just when I get back on board here ya'll come up with new ideas that I have to try.
Looks like I will be making Scrambled's apple butter tomorrow along with those wonderful spiders. (And I just finished putting all my beading stuff back in order after making eyeglass lanyards and earrings for Christmas Gifts). Oh well, I have an excuse to scatter it all out again.
And Mrsengesth - why did you have to post that wonderful egg. Oh well, better now than when I am about to pull all my stuff out again. One question - is that egg foiled or painted?
