Crazy Chicken (Blood Warning)

My dad has cleaned them up and is going to get something to put on the redness, thank you for your help :)
Did they have a lot of open sores?
Or was it just a lot of blood from a little cute?

No prolapsed vents right?
No stuff sticking out of any one's vent?

I did a series of chicken necropsies on 10 hens that were “found dead” and turns out they had prolapsed cloacas and their companions eviscerated them from the vent up (started pecking at the vents and then just KEPT GOING eating everything attached :th ) I think it was a combination of poor ventilation, overcrowding, boredom, and protein deficiency. Definitely a management issue. I’m not saying that is the case here, but sometimes it can’t hurt to look at the housing situation and maybe add some enrichment. Otherwise, some hens are just vicious blankety blanks. Keeping her isolated for a while may reset the pecking order, fingers crossed.

If your dad could look around in a pharmacy, you may find Gentian Violet. That is the purple/blue color in BluKote. It stains, so keep away from clothes and hands, but it is very good to use to cover redness from pecking. Apply it with gloves. Iodine may be a good substitute.
