Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

Oh ok! I usually sub-mark them with their names as S for Sleepy and C fo Cutie. Cutie had a darker shelled egged than Sleepy's. You could really tell them apart. Too late now, I must not have thought it would be important to differentiate.

I'm thinking these 2 came from the same Mama

Yes, they are probably from the same Mama, however, the same Mama threw out some different chicks as well:

Here are the pics of other chicks from the same Mama. One almost looks like Legbars except for the leg feathers.

Sexlink cross, 3 females on the left and the silver-ish one is male.

Not to argue since I don't know personally, but I heard the exact opposite is true. Apparently crossing a CL or Ameraucana with a leghorn will result in a SBEL (Super blue egg layer). Genetically they are O/o+ and lay a darker blue egg than the O/O hens.

I hope to find out for myself one day. I gave a O/O rooster to a friend who has leghorn hens. I'm hoping to get some eggs from her and hatch them out this year. Of course it will probably be a year from now before I get any eggs from the resulting offspring.

The Term Super Blue Egg layer comes because they are super at laying blue eggs not that they lay super blue colored eggs.. ;)

Well, here are some pics of my CCL hybrids, 2 of my own and an olive egger that I ordered and only 1 made it to hatch,, glad I threw in my 2 eggs. Yellow with brown spot is my Buff Orp x CCL roo, Brown is my RIR x CCl roo and the OE was a OE Roo x CCL. What do you think 2 cockerels and 1 pullet

I will leave it to the experts, but I can tell you what my hunch says. I think all 3 are boys.
