Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

He was given to me by a friend who bought 6 "Cream Legbar" hatching eggs off ebay. Only 2 hatched and other looked nothing like this one, so I really have no idea what kind of cross it could be. I'm just hoping he carries the blue egg gene.

I hope so too - whatever he is I think he is gorgeous

Here's my Cream Legbar x Barred Rock and Cream Legbar x Russian Orloff chicks. Daddy Orloff with Barred Rock partial. The chicks look very similar to what their mothers did, but with more cream around the eyes and chin.This pic is from April of the Orloff and Barred Rock.

The rooster does look very similar to the Welbar posted above. He could be a Welbar if so he would carry a dark egg gene not the blue gene.

Yes he does, but I know he hatched from a blue egg so that confuses me.

1) CCL cockerel x BLRW hen

or

2) CCL cockerel x mottled ameraucana hen

produce autosexing chicks?

1.well you have seen what the CCL x Laced Wyandotte dont produce autosexing chicks, so I doubt blue can do anything differently..

2. Mottled birds are based on Extended black on this cross all of the chicks will have a headspot...

Couldn't daddy have been Welsummer and mother CCL (so blue egg)? ETA: And wouldn't that mean he'd carry an olive egger gene?
