We have snow from December through March,,,,,Is that about it in New Berlin too?

They implemented a new policy this year that they wont plow our road unless there is more than 3 inches fallen snow.


I had my thermostat at 60 for the longest time, but just cant seem to stay warm.

Wow I am gone for a day and I have 6 pages to read, I can hardly keep up with yas. The other night I got woken up by my cat making racket and clawing at the furniture and rugs. I grabbed her and started clipping her nails, but I was half asleep. Soooooo, she bit me. Hard. And it bled a lot. Now i dont think she has rabies, but she is not up to date on her shots. Soooo, how long do youall think I have to live? ha well I am a bit worried, I wonder if I should get a rabies shot? Maybe I better call the doctor, but if I do they might come and get the cat. Which might not be all that bad. My left hand is swollen up and yesterday I wasnt feelin so hot thats why I wasnt here.

Well golly, they have to be chicken friendly. Dont you remember all the movies bout texas that have the bad guys riding up into the prarie peoples yard, and there's maw with the seed in her apron skirt, scattering it out to the chickens.. lol

Sorry to hear about your little spaz, Skand.

Now on another subject, Texas also has 100 degree plus heat , dust storms, flash floods, yotes, rattlers, other strange critters, hurricanes, and two ex-presidents.

But other than that, it is pretty country at times, I've been through there on the bus in the summer and the winter.

Well, my house chicken (she's a black sex link, btw) just waddled over to me a little bit ago, laid a soft shelled egg on my lap....I had to clean up so she was back on the floor, and she wandered to where her box is up on the freezer and looked up at it (she has *never* done that before, she always wants to roost on my desk) and I put it on the floor and she hopped right in???

She never does that. She *always* sits on my desk until at least 7 pm.

I am going to look into speckled sussex now though. I am getting itchy to try out my incubator I got for Christmas. Heaven help me. I am just getting ready to move my porch crazies out to the main coop and I want to hatch more!

Chix, can you make a standard sized chicken diaper? I am so not a sewer and my hubby thinks I am crazy for wanting to make a diaper for the house chicken. He's not the one who has to go around with the paper towel all day long picking up poo!

And he's also the sewer, so he won't make me one, apparently.

Ok time to run the kiddo to her friend's house. She has a better social life than I do.

This is more like for winter months

Usually she has a skein of yarn in her paws because she knows I spend time with the yarn so she wants to make sure I notice her.

I'm still perfecting my birdie diapers but soon they are going to be on here for sale. I just want to make sure I have them perfect first. I'm getting there. I'm making them double lined and want to do adjustable straps. Still figuring that out. My chicks are so small it's hard to fit them. I'm going to try them on the bigger girls tomorrow to see how they fit. I can send you one of my practice ones for free!!! It will be nice...don't worry.

one of my fingers is starting to hurt, if it gets worse tomorrow I am going to the Doc (lol I almost said vet)

I am getting eggs from Dipsey in April woo hoo. I have 3 boy silkies and 1 girl silkie, what to do with all the boys. uffda!
