Crochet "Chat"

Oh Algo, we are in the same boat. I have a ton of eggs right now too, but I don't think that freezing is recommended actually. But I might be wrong. I know I heard both ways. One that it is ok, and one that you shouldn't do it. If you hear anything let me know, please, because I don't have a clue how to do it, and either I am going to have to do a lot of baking or I am going to have to freeze some too. I am definitely putting up flyers as soon as our "self serve" system is in place.

Ultrasound went well, squirrely girl is growing beautifully.

LC, sent you that pattern today in case you want it to be considered in your crochet-a-long vote. I would imagine the bag will be a fav. though ..did you see the lily yarns link to the pattern?

There was talk about an amigurumi swap at one time, with the crocheted critters, doesn't interest me but the swap idea was gaining momentum in case anyone wants to host that.

Someone could do a themed crochet block of the month swap too like Acre does with the quilt blocks. That would be fun and challenging, maybe do a set of them so it would be worth it to swap..just a thought for a summer project in case anyone wants to pick that up and run with it.

Rocket I have frozen them befor. I read somewhere on the net to just lightly beat them so as not to get too many air bubbles in them then pour them in freezer bags and thaw and cook like normal when you need them. Some people seperate the yolks from the whites but I don't bother. I take 2 ice trayes and lightly grease them then fill them full of the beaten eggs and after they are frozen I put the cubes in freezer bags with the amount of eggs and date on the bag. I like them in cubes so I can just take out what I need instead of thawing all of them at once. It takes about 2 cubes to make an egg. I have cooked my frozen eggs that were from June back in the winter when eggs were scarce and they looked really gross while they were thawing and cooking but once they were cooked I couldn't tell that they were any different from fresh in taste or texture.
Hope that helps.

Thanks SE

I lost my frizzle Pullet yesterday. She was the only one that was truly frizzled. I went outside to put the chickens up last night before it got dark and she was gone. No feathers, no nothing.

I got the flashlight and looked all over for her and didn't find her. She didn't come back today either....dang it.

Thanks Algo

That's what I'm wondering also....I kept them inside today to be on the safe side. The weird thing is that the baby chick that just hatched a couple of weeks ago and her momma were just fine...I guess the frizzle pullet was straggling at the time

Ninny: most of the mobile patterns I found on the web weren't what I was looking for, nor were they free. but here are a couple:
http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Crochet/Projects/BabyChild/WT1059+Crochet+Baby+Birdie+Mobile.htm

http://donnascrochetdesignstheblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/mobile-free-crochet-pattern.html

What I ended up doing is gathering patterns of amigumi (sp) that I liked and making the hanging top thing (just a large circle with an embroidery hoop inside) and hanging the ami critters I chose from that.
Hope that helps.
