Your Majesty, if they have given you an official 30 day notice to vacate, then you can legally hold them to that, regardless of the fact that they are selling the house from under you. I would check with an attorney. They can't just change the terms without some sort of compensation to you. Even if you are on a Month to Month lease, they are still required to give you proper notice.

In the meantime, light a fire under your loan officer and appraise them of the new situation. Maybe they can expidite your loan approval.

Scrambled---what a cute idea! Make them to look like eggs!

Queen--sorry for all the hassle that goes with moving...

then you don't have to leave. Read your lease. By law, you must be given eviction notice in writing. Otherwise, it's their word against yours. Do call an attorney....most will do a free quick consultation over the phone.

They never signed a lease.

Amy's right on that, if you have a signed lease, or even if you have a verbal contract, they are required by law to give you written notice. Most states hold that if you have been living in a residence for two or more weeks and receive mail at that address you are a legal resident of the property and the owners/landlords must file the proper paperwork with the courts in order for them to evict you. Failure to do so can result in penalties being assessed against them by the courts for an illegal eviction and awarded to you.

If you have a signed lease, and they are breaking the lease by having you move, make sure you get a signed release from them on the remainder of the lease. Otherwise they could come after you for the balance of the rent on the lease.

If you are on a month to month lease, they still must give you 30 day written notice to vacate. If you do not vacate at the end of the 30 days they must file eviction papers with the courts. Even then you can still occupy the property until a court decision is made.

Well, after helping Alyssa write 100 words for school tomarrow. It's one hundred days of school, they do this sort of thing every year. I had to count out 100 things with her. THEN! She tells me, it has to be something you can eat. I told her, well, cook the noodles and you can eat them. She didnt go for that. So off to bed she goes, and here I am, counting 100 pieces of apple jacks cereal.!!!

Been there Skand. My daughter has homework in the first grade. I was a teacher so I know how this stuff works but darn....first grade. Then they want you to do this and that and more of that.

BTW I told my hubby about all those jobs. Hopefully his law enforcement works out here. He's in the final stage. One more step and he's going to be a piece of bacon.

Queen I feel for you. I know how moving is.

It is horrible. Best of luck with all of that. I may be moving in the near future too. All I know is that my coop can be moved with my friends. It really makes me sick because I just built this house in 2002 and just got my flowers and bushes looking nice and my fruit trees are now producing and bam....gotta move. It will be good for our family to have more income plus I could go back to teaching in an area that might actually pay me what I need to survive. Teaching is horrible pay in our area. That is why I'm doing daycare.

You girls in the fudge swap I got my packaging at the dollar store. I just found some little brown envelope with some bubble wrap cheap. BTW: We need one more to get things going. Come on guys a little pan of fudge.

OMG Skand! 100 days of school thing here too. The kid has to have a parent come to her class on Monday and do all these activities with her. Each one requires doing something 100 times. I did it once with the oldest DD and needless to say, DH is going this time.

P.S. I'm still workin' on getting the one eyebrow picture. I tried once to catch him with the camera, but I wasn't fast enough.
