Crochet "Chat"

Dawn,
When choosing your yarn, keep in mind that with the hairy/loopy/fuzzy stuff it's REALLY difficult to see your stitches (though I've heard that if you pair it with regular yarn (1 strand of each) it's alot easier. Also, some of the hairy stuff is a lint nightmare. K

Girl I've been crocheting for 2 years now and still dont understand patterns, they hurt my brain,

I can read acouple...

Have any of you bought "Magic Crochet" books? They not only print the instructions but they put the pattern in pictures and it makes them easy to read and understand. When I lived on Okinawa a lot of Japaneze crochet books were the same way and I really liked them for understanding directions, especially since I couldn't read Japaneze. I still have trouble reading some patterns especially when there's an error in the instructions.

Jen, CUTE puppy! How did your craft fair go?

Baustin, I love chart patterns...no having to read & reread instructions. I have a ton of OLD Magic Crochet magazines (mostly thread crochet) but last time I looked, they were no longer publishing. Crochet Today! magazine is really good at having charts accompanying their patterns & everything I've made has come out well.

Thanks guys...

Algo - That one is my favorite too

Kgee - I just dont know about these craft shows... it was 20.00 to go, plus all the gas I used (it was an hour away), plus I had to get up at 5:00 am on a Saturday and I only mad 10.00........ so I was still out 10.00. Seems I do better selling to family and friends and word of mouth. My aunt has 2 or 3 more she is wanting us to do but I really dont know if I'm going too, doesnt seem worth it. Thanks for asking

Jen, Sorry about your craft fair...that's alot of work to end up in the hole. I get the impression that it's hit or miss as to what is selling at a particular fair.

Love the scarf..fast is good...if it takes more than a week to make there's a good possibility that it'll end up in my UFO pile. Guess that's why I prefer crocheting over knitting...knitting's too slow for me...or maybe I'm too slow for knitting. My hooks, though, can fly!

Been working on an afghan (I think it'll be for me

) that's coming up on that week deadline. I've got 3 1/2 rounds of edging to go...lots of picots so it's taking forever!

Queenie, I hope you're having a nice anniversary & wish you many more years of happiness

I finished my afghan...YEA!!! Made it out of Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in a butter color. It was nice yarn to work with. Now on to more Christmas projects.
