Crochet "Chat"

Dawn,

I could imagine it when I started, but it is taking on a life of it's own & I'll be as surprized as anyone.

Navy is the only color I am getting. The other colors are yarns I have, hence the variations on the theme. It is a 9x9 old fashioned granny square afghan. Each square has a white center (if I run out of white yarn, some may be yellow or orange). Most of the squares will be navy. There will be a diagonal row of light blue (and navy) going from upper right to lower left. To either side of the row is a row of light blue, grey and navy. The blues and greys will vary. I have some sparkly thread with satiny colored squares in it and am working this thread in with the yarns other than the white. I have four spools of it, each a different color. I'm on square #17 and the last spool, so think that, other than the diagonal design, everything else will just be navy.

Does that help? I'm projecting it should be finished in late December. Bok.

Yes it does, Thank you! Wow, by December? That's just around the corner. When you said it would be awhile I was thinking a year or two.

I've been known on several projects to take a few years. I set them down to start another, and then another, and then another.

This is my year to finish all those unfinished projects in between b-day & x-mas presents.

So glad you had enough yarn. I'll take a peek of it. I bought some camo yarn last yr in hopes to make my nephew a hat for X-mas last yr, but ran out of time.

I totally forgot the other day that a friend of mine has goats, b/c I don't see much of her any more like I used to when our kids were younger. Her DD has grown up w/ my DD since 3rd grade and she is in my Girl Scout troop. The girls are Seniors this year. Her younger DD is also in my troop and oldest son is pretty close to us as well. Anyway, she had to call me to make sure her cookie order was tacked on her DD GS Cookie order sheet and I asked her what she's been up too and she said just taking care of her goats. It was just a few days after I was drooling over Muller's talk of all the yummy stuff she makes w/ her milk. LOL!!! I asked if she had milk goats and she does this yr I think Nubrains. I didn't realize there were so many diff breeds of milk goats. I told her about all the yummy things my friends on BYC were making w/ their milk.

As you will see from my message to your inbox about the dreaded pantry project I haven't been able to follow my other addicting (FB) like normal this week. Crazy around here w/ The World Series games too. I'll look for your fb farm page and "like" it. I'm so addicted as well. Thanks again for accepting my friendship on there.

Hi, yes it's been quiet on here. Must be everyone is busy with their granny squares for the swap.

I am working on an afghan done it hexagons, mixed colors and edged in burgundy for a grandson that is getting married soon. I was also working on a baby afghan and was almost finished when I ran out of yarn. I picked more up while I was back in NC for a wedding and brought it home with me but she misscarried. I'm still going to finish it and put it away for another time. I am doing the last rows of edging so should be finished this evening.

It's turned cold here so staying inside and keeping some work on my lap is the thing to do right now. Anyone making things for Christmas? I have to finish a quilt for my daughter and plan on some smaller projects but I won't have time to make a lot of gifts.

Here is a photo of the first afghan I made like the one I'm doing now.
