Thank you, That's why I like it, it's so cheerful. I did another last year for my daughters birthday. She lives in WA and the winters can be dreary. She said she missed the flowers the most so I made an afghan using the center popcorn flower in this photo and added green around it so she had flowers all over in different colors. It came out pretty. Unfortunately I did it before I started taking photos of what I do.
Oh Betty that afghan is just gorgeous!!!!! I love it!!!
I'm so slammed this week, so no time to crochet. I'm tucking in the tails to my swap squares. I'm so pokey!
I had put them aside to work on some B-day gift (beanie head huggers w/ matching wrist warmers) At some point today I have to pick up the whole troop's (8 girls) Girl Scout Cookie orders. I'll fill the back of my suburban w/ cases & cases of cookies. My hubby's 50th B-day party is this weekend, so lots & lots to do before then.
I'm trying a new hat pattern, but ran out of yarn before I finished. I might have to pull it out and start over. It's a wee bit tight towards the crown part. I either made my stitches too tight or I need to go up a hook size. I'll post a pic when it's finished.
We've been busy with yard work. It's race to get it all done before the dreaded snow gets here.
I have a favor to ask of the wonderful crocheters here. I am going to try and get back into crocheting after many, many years. I was wondering if anyone knows of a simple free hat or scarf pattern online that would be a good one to start back into crocheting with? I have looked myself-but maybe someone has a suggestion off hand.. I am going to go to buy some yarn this weekend and I don't want to buy a book with 30 patterns of which I would only need one or two. I probably should buy a beginner book with all the stitches in it to refresh my memory. Thanks in advance for any sugesstions.

You can sign up (for free) for online patterns from many of the yarn companies. I like the Lion Yarn website cause they let you search for free patterns and you can specify exactly what your looking for and the skill level. Great tool for beginners.

Yes I've ordered yarn online from Jo-Ann fabrics but only yarn I've worked with before. I'm always nervous to order anything in fabrics etc. that I haven't seen and felt in person. Cuz I'm kinda picky.
The yarn got here very quickly and it was exactly what I had ordered but I've only done it once. www.joann.com

I sent you a message of a beanie head hugger pattern that I found easy to understand. Just last year I was having a terrible time deciphering hat patterns that I was trying to follow from a few crochet pattern books I had at home. My first beanie head hugger attempt ended up looking more like Little Red Riding Hood's Grandma's cap. Another BYC member shared their beanie head hugger pattern with me and I could actually follow it and have made several with the shared pattern since then.
