Crochet "Chat"

i saw another yarn bomb. It is on the same street as the first, looks like it was made by the same person. Life in the city does have its advantages.

Gosh, almost a month and no new replies? Is everybody up to their eyeballs in projects?

Here's my latest "hot off the hook" piece: hatchling turtle hat and cape photo prop set. The hat can be removed to wear without the cape. The pattern is by Calleigh's Clip & Crochet Creations on Etsy. I used Hobby Lobby bamboo spun in limey and brown and it is so soft!

I am looking to crochet a set of 3 toy balls for a friend who's about to have her first baby. I'd like one to rattle, one to jingle and one to crinkle. What would you all suggest to use to make a rattle instead of buying one? Dry beans in a plastic Easter Egg? And would wax paper work for the crinkle?

You can buy the crinkle stuff just like that is in store bought toys. I can't remember what it's called right off, but you can call Joann fabrics and they can probably tell you what it's called and if they have it in stock.

I think waxed paper would loose it's crickle, what about a grocery bag (plastic)? Or something w/ a little thicker but the same kind of plastic (we have emesis bags at work) but I can't think of anything off the top of my head like that.

well I started working on one last night and finished it this morning. I started with the idea that i was going to make the wingls into the body so it would be perfectly round-ish (lol), but that wasn't working for me so i made them off the sides of the body. My sister loved it and it looks super cute on my baby niece Kenley =)

I did not have a pattern, I went online and found a picture of one of those cute baby owls that's on a lot of crib bedding and infant things right now and created it from there. thankfully I had that huge flower button in my craft stuff, I don't think it would have looked as girly without it!

I could turn it into a "Bapron"...

Where did you find this and the monkey pattern? I have a new great nephew and would like to do something fun like this instead of a blanket?

Sorry should have read a little better I see you made up the pattern, well done very cute.

Here"s a hat and scarf. The flowers are pinned on because my yarn needles are 250 miles away. The extra flowers were meant to go onto the hat, but were too much. They'll eventually end up on something else.
