My daughter has been turning out hats this week for Christmas in kids and adults sizes and I'm jealous of her creativity and speed.

Crochet slippers with a needle felted Silkie on the toe... I'm loving needle felting over crochet.
Now that's just gross. :sick :lau Nice slippers though. I made slippers years ago but they slide too easy and the kids fell down the stairs. That was before they sold the rubber tread stuff.
We put lines or designs of inexpensive fabric paint on the bottoms of slippers and indoor socks which seems to take the slipper-iness off them pretty well.

I just started tunisian crochet last night, and I'm surprised at how easy it is! Learning this new technique is both exciting and entertaining. Although the stitch isn't my favorite, it is always good to add another skill the the crochet repertoire!

I'm excited to learn more. I started just experimenting and found that there are a lot of holes you can use to change the stitch. I made about 4 dishcloths just trying new things.

On a side note, I finished my first shrug tonight. I had never heard of a shrug until I stumbled upon it on a favorite crochet blog of mine. I found a free pattern from lions brand yarn using their soft homespun yarn and a size n hook. I absolutely love this piece and highly recommend it as a quick weekend project. What do you all think?

I think you did a grand job on the shrug! Will have to make one for myself one day. I'm not fond of using that yarn, having made a huge shawl with it and had a devil of a time trying to find the stitches. I think mine was the Thick & Quick Homespun. It does make a super soft product, though!

thanks! I had used the yarn before as well and HATED it! But the great thing about this pattern is you use a HUGE hook to get the very loose and draped effect. No problem at all finding the stitches.
