Crochet "Chat"

Here is the candy cane afghan I made.
400

Love that. How cute!

I just finished this shoulder wrap. It's about 15.5" x 44". Would have made it longer but I was running out of yarn. As it is, I didn't have enough to do the second round of the trim.

I used this yarn for the first time, it being about half price at JoAnn online and I bought it liking the color and the yardage (about 447 yds in the skein), but though it seems really soft in the skein, it's not as super soft as I first thought it was. It's not bad, but just not quite as soft worked up as in the skein. It's Rainbow Classic by Purl Essence Everyday in "Oatmeal". Supposed to be a #5 chunky, but no way I'd classify it that way.

Beautiful!

Anyone else having a crochet-athon while waiting for midnight? I'm not sure what I want to make yet but I'll probably be crocheting all night.

Thank you! I won't be buying that yarn again, it's not bad, just not what I expected it to be. I did like the color and neutral works with most everything.

I never wait up for the ball drop, haven't in years. I am putting binding on a quilted table runner, though, no idea how sleepy I'll get. May be up at midnight by accident, just depends, but I don't ever stay up on purpose anymore. New Year's Eve celebrations are too darn noisy for me. I can't stand noise nowadays. Bad enough that DH never turns the television off and has lost some of his hearing. In this tiny house, there's nowhere to go for quiet.

I've been thinking about doing a donation swap. Here's how it works:
Each person will do 1-3 afghan squares (depending on how many participants we get) of a predetermined pattern with a certain theme (baby girl or boy/ neutral colors/bright colors/blues/etc) in mind. That way no one has to match a color exactly, but can use what they want. Everyone will send their square/squares to me, and I will put everyone's blocks together to one afghan. I will then deliver the blanket to someone who needs a little warmth or love.

Does this make sense? Who would participate?

I'd like to do this, but I'm not sure what an afghan square is

Granny Squares or knitted squares sewn together to create a blanket/ Afghan They can be various sizes. Our last swap, (there is a thread) was 12 , 12" and 12, 6" squares.

Go to the Granny square swap thread and see how we work things. Asked who would like to participate?

Go to the granny square swap thread and see who would like to participate. What you're suggesting is not a swap but a request for square donations. Which is fine of course.

I do know that A.C.Moore does a donation for squares. Many of the hospitals take donations for the childrens ward.

Good idea! I haven't done a swap yet but I'd love to! I think you have to be over 18 though, which I'm not quite yet. I will when I can though.

Working on a doll right now. Trying to figure out how to make it posable :/

Edit- autocorrect wants to change swap to square now...?
