I just finished what I'm calling a fusion afghan, it is a crocheted blanket quilted to a pieced fabric backing. The crocheted side came from a recent granny square swap on BYC.

Crocheted side

Quilted side, on my next one I am going to pay more attention to placement of the squares on this side of the blanket too.
Very clever idea. Looks nice too.

You know I may have to give it a try again, I have all of the hooks from every size you could imagine and I even have a double hook don't know what she would have used them for, my mother was a crocheter, I love the little animals that you can make, and I even have a book on them.

It really is easy, the hardest part of crocheting is reading the patterns. But it is easy to undo your mistakes just pull the thread and try again.

Yep. I taught myself (well my Grandma tried but I lost interest) by reading the books. Start with something easy like a hot pad or a simple beanie. If you get stuck on something then go to YouTube. They have a video tutorial for just about everything under the sun. There are a bunch of more complicated stitches I've been wanting to learn and I found videos for them as well. The basic stitches are needed first, you can build on them later.

Folks here love to help too.

Good Luck!

Thanks, My mom tried to teach me but she didn't have the patience so I can chain, understand dc, etc. my biggest problem was counting the stitches, so maybe with the brain old oh I mean mature
