Crochet "Chat"

i have a tone of doilie patterns dose any one have any good idea how to use doilies other than the traditional way?

I've seen doilies used as bowls for decor. What they did is make a glue and water liquid and soak the doily in it, take it out and lay it on a balloon. Let it dry and pop the balloon. You have a decorative bowl. I've also seen them do the exact same thing, but put a few doilies around the balloon, let it dry, pop the balloon and you have a light cover. Very pretty.

I have an idea that came from a friend. You can give them as gifts and frame them in one of those glass box frames that you display things in. Does that make sense? I've also made pillows and sewn a doily on the front, and also sewn them on t shirts for decoration. The swap sounds like a good idea but I can't join this one as the next few months are going to be too hectic to do anything. Will keep checking in here though and see what's going on.

Hope to finish this afghan within the next couple of days. Have two more rounds of the dark teal (Red Heart Real Teal) and three rounds of purple (Caron Deep Violet) to do on it and then weave in some tails and voila, fini.

Did this scarf, a pattern from Red Heart called Heartwarming Scarf, but I used their softer yarn line than the regular super saver it called for. It's 4" x 54", really decorative.

Lovely work! I made a couple of the same afghan but in different colors with the center being a flower...very pretty. I'm thinking of making one into a bed cover with all the yarn that I have and need to get rid of so that I can justify buying more.

Thanks! I decided to do only two rounds of the darker teal, then three of the purple, in reverse of that same color combination earlier in the piece-executive design decision, lol. Working on the next to last round now and will post a picture of the finished piece when I'm done. Have a few other projects in mind, but I want to get this one completed first.

Great projects you all are working on! So happy I finally got the pics to load. :D Speckledhen I am using a dark teal and purple on my current project as well. With a pale leaf green.

Kassaundra this is one of the projects I was talking about that I have to finish before I can join another swap. None of the tails are tucked in, it needs an underskirt and a waistband and I need to sew small, colored, pearl style beads to the center of each flower (see arrows in 2nd pic). I don't want to think about all that yet though. At this stage I'm celebrating each time I finish another color panel (I'm a very slow crocheter). It's for my oldest DD who is very picky. I sure hope she likes it.

The animals are amigurumi crochet except for the white and the pink lambs. Granny square throw is 4'x4'.
