Crochet "Chat"

Okay, I tried them all out and none are right. I SWEAR we are looking at the picture sideways. That would explain the strand. If you put multiple stitches above and below a chain it would pull on the side of the chain that had only one strand (does that make sense?). Maybe she calculated the color change perfectly. It could be done. I'm going to try it from a sideways perspective and report back.

You have no idea how crazy this is making me :)

I agree they weren't the right pattern, no matter how loosy goosy I crocheted them, and they don't have the row that "covers" the chain at the color change either.

@speckledhen Very Cute!

Okay back to the Lattice crochet, I tried it quickly after I finished up my afghan. I will need to spend more time with it, but I think it's def on the right track. I keep losing which end is up tho! But here is almost 2 rows of the multiple of 6 + 4. (That is a difference between the 2 patterns, as is the entire first row).
You can see where the 3 "legs" form that part that looks like the duck foot print (where my hook is) and you can also can see the 2 trebles together (at the bottom by the beg free end). When I typed "decreases" above, that was a terrible word choice: actually (from watching the video on the link Kass posted) I saw that actually the 1st treble is worked thru the first sets of loops twice, then you leave the last set on the hook, along with the original working loop, then you wrap twice and begin the next treble. Then you "finish" those together... But def not a decrease.

that's similar to where I was. I think the key to the "look" is how many loops in the stitch you are going through. In most of the stitches it looks like you go into the stitch as normal, but in the middle "leg" it seems like it's only going through one loop, hence the pulled appearance.

Ok... Here are some more pics. Does this help?

I think so, it shows the direction of crochet is definitely w/ the color, not cross color w/ tons of color changes, and it looks like a simple asymmetrical "V" pattern to me. Close to the pattern we have been working with tonight, just not w/ the extra treble.

Hello friends :) It's been a little bit since I've been on but I thought I'd drop in and share a few pics of things ive finished recently :)

Finished this Piglet for a family friend that ordered it but they never picked it up/paid for it so my niece became the happy new owner on Christmas Eve. She's 2yrs old in march and was Ecstatic!

Finished this mind-blowingly-soft blanket for a cousin that had a baby boy in November, she lives out of state but will be having a shower at my 'aunts' up here soon. I LOVE this yarn!!

This blanket is now close to finished, baby blanket size. I used a new method for attaching and wasn't please with the results, made the blanket 'slanty'. it will be finished soon though. I used Bernat SV 'Redwood' to attach. The variegated is also a Bernat color & the blue is RHSS 'Aqua', I think.

Some preemie hats I'm making now to use up the little skeins of baby yarn.

And a bed I made for my pup... finally figured out a use for that stupid Martha stewart yarn!

By George I think she's got it!

Love your latest project. I'm envious of your ability to use "fuzzy" yarn. It messes me up. I tried using it for a lounging hat for my friend going through chemo, but I gave up. When I get her care package done, I'll post pictures. I've got a pink ribbon beanie and matching cowl done so far. I'm doing a lapghan for her now with 3d flowers.
