Crochet "Chat"

Spekled: I would probably go with all the same type of yarn. If it is anything like thread it will give you problems with mixing and matching. Either way it will be beautiful. I love sampler afghans.

I think I rather agree on the type yarn. I'll have to get more of that when we go shopping this week. Need more of the teals, sage greens, etc anyway. I have some but the wrong shades of green and blue and what I do have is a dull finish. Still thinking on this one. Thanks for all the input, ladies!

Has anyone ever crocheted a chick/chicken diaper before? I'm curious to know if there is a pattern out there that I just can't find.
I couldn't find a pattern, but I made a very small beanie that would fit an orange. I added some straps to it so it would criss cross over the back. It worked pretty well for the little chick. Now she uses a regular one made of cloth.

Hi Speckled.. how's the afghan coming along?

Hi Speckled.. how's the afghan coming along?

Thanks for asking! I bought a couple more skeins of Simply Soft to continue, though the selection was a bit meager at Walmart. I'm making 12" blocks, or trying to. They don't always come out that size, but they either make 12" or 13". May have the makings for 2 projects when all is said and done. Here are others I've finished. I'm going between these and my quilted tablecloth, back and forth, so I change up my finger muscles a bit. Quilting is harder on my hands than it used to be, but crochet is not as bad. At least I can continue being creative through the tingling and numbness.

I see that Joann will be having a sale in the next few days and I hope they have a day of free or almost free shipping so I can order some yarn that I can't get at Walmart.

Your work is lovely. I have not crocheted much with yarn. Looking at your work maybe I will be inspired to make a small project. I love blues in blocks. It really makes the other colors pop.

Thank you! That means a lot coming from an accomplished person such as yourself!

What I love are the blue-greens/teal/turquoise and I think they look nice with the peach and lavender. I just need more yarn of the same sheen level to finish the project(s). I may use the 13" blocks with 6" and 7" blocks in one afghan and all the 12" ones in another.

I am making a couple of stretchy sun hats for a sweet lady who is losing her hair from chemo. Here is the first one. There is a sort of crocheted drawstring that can be pulled tighter or even removed if she doesn't want/need that.

It was made to the same pattern as this one in our Blue Roo web store.
