Crochet "Chat"

Number three. Pm me if you have questions. The pattern was a tiny bit hard for me to understand. But once you have it, it's mindless.
i thought that was it but yea it was confusting to me, so i decied to try no. 6 i could figure it out, but i do think 3 i much pretter.

Yeah. Both are neat. My friend's mom who recommended the pattern made both 3 and 6 and both looked great! Post pictures so I can see what the 6 looks like.

This is what i have so far but it allmost seems like it is getting wider for some reason idk, i hope not.
Counting stitches at the dark blue row you've added a stitch. (10) First row white. (11) Second row white. (12 ) So yes it's getting wider. From the hooks side. Count from the hook to your first shell stitch.

It can be hard when first learning to crochet to not add a stitch when ending a row. That's the row you want to make sure you count your stitches.

humm...ok not sure how to fix it you are supose to skip the second to last stich which i have been doing. so don't think i'm and one at the very end.

oh, i figred it out some how i added two exta stiches on the last light blue row. went back and took them out.

You will need to pull it out until you get to the last light blue row. Then start with the dark blue again. When you get to the end of a row start counting your stitches.

If you count the stitches in the picture, you'll see that when you finished or started the last light blue row you have 10 double crochets instead of 9 like in the light blue row before it. It also looks as though you forgot to chain two for your shell stitch in the same row.

When you finish a row and chain three, that chain three counts as one double crochet. So after you chain three and turn you'd make 8 double crochet, not nine.

It's a common mistake we make when we first learn. Trying to figure out where to put that last stitch.

I used to practice making squares of each stitch til I got it right.

Well I don't quilt, but you know I crochet. Please send me a pm when there is another swap. I follow only certain threads mainly. So unless I'm involved in a swap I can't.

DW already says I'm addicted to BYC.

It has been quite some time since anyone started a crochet swap. The last one was tiny, so I didn't organize another, figuring everyone was needing a break.
Yes! Let me know if you do another granny swap!

I was considering it. I found a pattern I thought would make a cool swap everyone doing the same pattern but different colors, the pattern is pretty straight forward and easy, but the look would be more modern then we have done until now.
