Crochet "Chat"

Hope the weather is being kind to all our friends west? How did Travis do? Watched a spectacular wreck on Nascar yesterday, did any of you see it? God is with the drivers now isn't He? Make it a good week, all.

Good morning all! I haven't checked in much lately, but have been lurking! You all are so busy!!

I've been quilting up a storm and my grandma taught me to knit! She doesn't know how to crochet, but she showed me the knitting basics. I've been practicing with that a little bit.

Got lots of chicken happenings too...I have 8 banty teens that got kicked out of the house (DH complaining about stink!) and into our shed. I let them out to roam the yard like "big chickens" this weekend. I'd been keeping them penned up in the yard, but they were free this time! Woo hoo!

Anyway,

to all of you!

Hi, all! Well, my Saturday morning meeting went well, except... I've been elected presider for our local conference (25 churches) of Lutheran women. Kinda makes me feel a little
sickbyc.gif
to realize the responsibility they've trusted me with! Prayers, please??
Okie & Ris, I had pre-eclampsia with my first son & gestational diabetes with my second. Seemed like the pregnancy "symptoms" were getting worse with each one! But the doctor really scared me when he told me what could happen if I didn't keep my blood sugar levels down. I was able to control mine with diet, and never had to use insulin, but was warned that even one high reading at an appointment & that's what would happen. Don't take any chances - do what you need to for your health & the baby's. The "method" of delivery won't matter after you have that beautiful, healthy baby to love!!
Lunch break is over, so I better get back to work. Ya'll have a great day - hope the tornado fairies stay from all of us! It's going to be another beautiful day here, so I'm glad there are no windows in my office. I'd end up daydreaming about being somewhere else.
Peace!
Kay

Best wishes to the preggos.

Hope everything goes well. It's a hard job! That's why I stopped at 2.

I had both c section babies. My dr. pushed a c section also on the 2nd baby. It wasn't too bad. Better than the first. I had gone to a different Dr. and much better recovery.

It has rained and rained and rained here. And they are calling for more rain.

Luteranchick: They knew you could do it. Good luck!

No chicks: I have been wanting to try one of those topsy turvey. They look pretty cool.

My alone day was fun. I went shopping for the kids and looked at a lot of stuff. I decided not to go to the casino. I had a bit of a backache and just wasn't feeling like it. So I just came home after shopping and rested my back. Went to bed early and the next morning I was so much better. So much better that I went through all the kids stuff and got rid of clothes they couldn't wear, cleaned the oven and fridge, cleaned out the winter closet and put all the winter stuff away, and then out to the garage and gave it a good cleaning. (You should see it now Karan)

Then planted more flowers.

I saved all my little pots. And as soon as the weather straightens up I'm coming down for some tomaters and pepper plants? Did you get any of those huge peppers started? I want those.

We'll off to another day. I am up early to finish an order for saddles. Have a great one!

Good Morning...

Passing through this morning

Our chicken coop is almost done... still need to put the door up and do some finishing touches. I started painting it yesterday (and 4 wooden spools, that we use in the yard for tables and seats). I was outside painting all day, I'm sore. Then I was pulling pallets apart to cover the cracks on the coop. (man thats a job!) Slowly getting there, the chickies have been out of the house since last friday and they are doing great. I'm sitting here on the back porch watching in their run

Going to try to get some crocheting in today. My Aunt wants me to make her a baby afghan for a friends of her daughters. Need to go to the store to get that yarn.

Have a great day

Wow, Jen, too bad you have to go to the yarn store. What a horrible waste of time, huh?

Like sending a kid to the candy store!

LOL!! I just had to buy yarn to finish that purple afghan and that purple bernat boucle is discontinued..looked at Joann's, Michael's and Hobby Lobby here in town and all over line and only found one person with it on ebay and then had to buy 3 skeins in a bundle to be able to get it and only needed about a 1/2 a skein! If someone wants to trade for the other two skeins, let me know. You know that might be a fun thing to do sometime too, organize a yarn swap from our stashes!

Hope everyone had a great day!!

I cant even go into a store without stopping by the yarn, most times just to look at it, I'm addicted to it! Was at Wal-Mart last Friday and bought a real pretty pink color

It will be a miracle if these kittens live through my children!!! Today alone I saved them from being washed with a soaking wet washcloth, being grabbed by the neck, and having a hair tie placed around one's head and mouth like it was a bit

And that was in between taking the twins to their DD preschool, taking my dd to a different school, and the oldest to his school. Oh and of course picking them up two at a time at different times of the day, doing dishes, laundry, trying to fix the third dining room chair that one of the kids fell out of and broke, kissing multiple boo boo's, 2 spongebob band-aids, one barbie band-aid, cleaning the living room and the playroom and making dinner. Have I mentioned lately that I am busy?

We are supposed to have some unsettled weather a couple of days this week so we'll see if it pans out. Here, that either means all hell will break loose, or nuthin.

Several times during this pregnancy, I have thought, what in the world was I thinking??
idunno.gif
Especially lately, when I start to get in the really uncomfortable miserable stage, and have to start thinking about labor options.

bummer on the yarn SE!! That is my pet peeve!! I am such and OCD freak when it comes to my yarn running out lol

Got to un-bury my yarn stash though. It's on the bottom so I don't get any more UFO's till I finish some of the ones I have!!

Holy cow, Okie! How can you be so active and be that pregnant?
wink.png
I am barely 16 weeks and I am like a big slug most of the time. I am starting to get some energy back, but it's slow going.

Hope everyone stays out of rough weather.

Hang in there with the rain, Lovemychix, we are getting the monsoons here too.

It's only Tuesday and it feels like most of the week has gone by...ugh, I feel pathetic. I think I better lay low, work on my crochet projects and pray that this little squirrel is doing alright. I think my first doctor would have my head about now if she knew I was going one more week before going to the doctor.

That's insurance for you.

I am getting the nesting instinct too (so are my pullets... got a nice pullet egg tonight!

) and I just want to plan out the baby's room and all sorts of stuff like that... I better pace myself.
