Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. was quite busy here. went to watch fireworks on Saturday and let off a bunch of our own. went to the local farmers market and bought some sweet corn and boy was it yummy!!!
gonna get a canner this week and start cannin i think.
Yesterday was a lazy day but i did get somemore boxes out of storage and sorted through them. Maybe someday they will be all done. LOL
Today is laundry day and cleanin as we were busy pretty much all weekend and i didnt have much time to do it. Then tomorrow is back to court for DD....dont know what the judge is gonna tell her this time....maybe they will let her come home or maybe not..dont know either way she has 4 months left till she turns 18 and then is responsible for herself.
Purr Moose is still a moose!! lol he sure is a cutie though!!!

Ended up being a nice weekend yesterday.
I had 2 new babies on the 4th. LIberty and Freedom. The 3rd egg disappeared.

I think it hatched and the most horrible thing happened. No trace of anything.

I can't believe my sweet chickens would do something like that.

The hen won't take the babies so I snatched them up and took them to the brooder. They are doing great. They are so cute.

More babies due to hatch today.

Hopefully this mother will be a good one.

I don't know what I'm doing with all these babies. I have possible homes for them. I can only keep a few.

Purr, gorgoeus paintings! Do you do commissioned works? I mean if someone sent you a picture of their pet could you do a painting of it for them?

Ris, glad to hear you and baby squirrel are doing okay. If you get some of Avon's Skin So Soft (Unscented) body lotion and use that it repels fleas, mites,skeeters, most any bug. Also you can use the unscented bath oil on your dogs as a flea repellant. Take a capful in a pint of water, put it in a spray bottle and mist your dog with it and brush it into the coat. Best to do it after you have bathed the dog and let it dry before misting and brushing. On longer haired breeds you will have to lift the coat away from the skin first, then spray.

Tiki, glad to hear that the move went well and things are going better for your chickens.

Your Majesty, don't feel bad about enjoying yourself and letting things slide. Given what you have been through this year, it's nice to kick off the traces every once in a while and just enjoy yourself.

Thanks Chuck. We don't have a dog though, since I am allergic to them, but if we ever get one, I will know what to do. We have some citrus spray that we hosed the coop down with. But I was thinking the DE we should get tomorrow will finish the job. Otherwise we are going to have to spray the chickens.

I can't seem to talk my DH into getting me the picture, Purr, unless he is going to surprise me with it.

I don't know. He kind of ignored me. *sigh*

Risu: I use 7 dust or a poultry dust you can buy at a farm store. It works and keeps them off. I had the same problem. Then I dust the areas good too. I tried to go "natural" and it never got rid of them completely. DE is good for preventing but I think using the dust will take care of the problem for ya. I use a old pantyhose footie and dust the bird under the belly and wings and around the vent.

chuck yes I do commision work from photo's either water color or oil, oils a little more expensive.

I love the painting of the hen and the babies.

Maybe when my babies get here I can get a painting of one of mine.
