Crochet "Chat"

I feel like I just hit the jackpot!!! I just went to a thrift store and found a bag of yarn for $2. In with the 4 full skeins of yarn and several balls of various colors I found 4 crocheted squares that are done in some sort of winmill pattern. They are actually 4 small sqaures put together to make the windmill. There are also several small triangles in various colors that look like possibly someone was making dishrags!
You make think me to be strange but I wonder what the previous owner had in mind!

Just reading and not posting anything. I've been interested in sewing for a long time I just don't know how. I remember when I was a little bitty thing helping my grandma sew on her saw horses in the back room. She done everything by hand and it always turned out so beautiful. Come to think of it I don't think she owned a sewing machine.

Scoot - Hope you get to feeling better. Everyone is entitled to a blah day every now and then...

KatieSarahsmom - great find. Makes me think also. I have several stores that I've never been in close to me. Wonder if they have any good grab bags of yarn.

Well, I'm gone to crochet some more...

Well I didn't want to check this post but darn it I did.
Yes I have both the knit and crochet squares and while I can do the stitch they don't come true to the gauge. So I have to modify them reduce the stitches and needle size.

Katiesarahsmom, I buy yarn at yard sales and thrift stores also and I hit the jackpot a few months ago. I crochet a lot of granny square afghans for my grandchildren and such so I have oodles of balls bought heaven knows where, some I've had for years. Well, I got to the end of a ball of yarn and wrapped inside it was a $5.00 bill. I wonder why the person did what she did?

Maybe to have something to start the ball with?? When I first started to crochet I couldn't start a ball for anything and the lady that was helping me told me to 'wrap it around something'...
