Oh. My. Gosh. That silly race track is one of those places that all the locals know where it is and just ASSUME that there are signs telling you where to turn! SE is right, I did make a few detours, but instead of Michigan, I swear I went through h.e.l.l. and half of Georgia! I was at the airport three times.

Any more, and they would have reported a blonde, middle aged female terrorist was stalking the Fayetteville NC airport!

I finally called my DH & had him pull up the track on Mapquest and talk to me until I found the place. Thank God for my sweet geek!

And, ya'll, SE & Mr. SE are both great! Darlene is every bit a sweet as she seems here, and knows how to make you feel right at home. Wish I had taken a camera other than my phone, but I got half-way there Friday before I remembered that. Meeting SE & Crumples and their dh's was something I'll remember for a long time. And btw - Travis is every bit as cute as his pictures! Too bad his car didn't perform well - better luck with the rest of the season!!

As for the chickenstock - that sounds like a good soup base, but not much fun for someone who doesn't really like chickens otherwise! {OMG, Ethel, did you see that? LC said she doesn't like chickens! What is this board coming to?}

I'm glad you persisted and finally found Darlene, LC.

Maybe one day I'll make it up there and have that pleasure too.

Wouldn't it be neat if we three could meet? Or maybe some of our other friends we've met on here.

I'll be glad to meet anyone - somewhere that the directions are clearly marked!

(Just kidding, SE! I think I could probably find the track again, now that I've found it once...) I've never had much of a sense of direction, but this trip took the cake. It didn't help that Mapquest's directions were somewhat less than clear.

hubby is in the hospital again. sore on his foot not doing so good. There is a hole that maybe down to the bone. doctor is concerned about the infection went to the bone. he is running a mri today & surgery tomorrow to at least clean up the hole & wound. depending if the infection went to the bone, he may have to amputate his big toe...we will pray we dont go that far!
other than that doing good.

Thanks all for your concerns.

Surgery went well. Doctor said that hole DID go all the way to the bone. He said the mri didn't show infection, however the bone looked inflamed. So he sent a sample of the bone off to be analyzed to see if it showed infection. He opened it up, cleaned it all up, shaved some bone & put on a thing called a wound vac to help heal it up. (sorry for thoes with a weak tummy

) Doctor said depending on what tests show in the next day or 2, hubby will have to have iv antibiotics for 2-6 weeks, every day a week. Good thing we don't live far from the hospital! If all goes well, he will come home Friday or Saturday.
Made my first Hex today, not sure I like that pattern, so will make another. If not will do a different one.
DD that is pregnant is 33 weeks & measuring 37!

Doctor said baby is 4-5 pounds already. They are going to do a ultrasound in 2 weeks & then decide on a c=section date. Doctor said that baby will be way to BIG for her little bitty body.
Thats about all my news, take care all...
