The only problem and I understand why it is done but we can't see any of the kids faces.

That is soooo cool!!! I don't remember what all I sent but I'm glad the kids are enjoying it so much! I think next time I'll just send a check and you or one of the parents can pick up the supplies. Shipping costs are ridiculous and you can get a lot more if I save on shipping and include that in the check. Let me know when they get low on soft baby yarns again!

LOL I actually do have signed permission slips for that group to use images, but I try to be careful about it. You can see a few of them on our Donorschoose page. Sunny the yarn and beanies and booties you sent were literally a Godsend, we had almost run out of yarn by then. I'm sure you recognize some of your "leavings" in there! We traded one of the adult beanies you sent for 5 skeins of Simply Soft yarn! A parent wanted it so badly, but I told her it was a donation we couldn't sell it, so she asked if we would make a trade,,, she went to Wal Mart and was back in an hour with the yarn! I didn't think you would mind us trading for it lol,, We still haven't found a bootie pattern that is easy enough for us beginners, but we are getting good at the caps and bibs and blankets! We bought some of the softer yarn and made the little headbands and sold them for $5 at the parent/teacher meeting to raise money for yarn, it was great! I'd also like to thank Damummis and Jersey for their donations,, we are truly blessed! I know we aren't supposed to pray in school, but 4 of the girls said a prayer of thanks at the meeting today, I don't think anyone will complain!

I guess it doesn't sound like much, but when you don't have a lot it's a bunch! We've already sent 4 boxes of bibs, washcloths and beanies to a women's shelter, a homeless shelter, and two local hospitals. I took pics of them with a regular disposable camera because I forgot my digital, my son had my phone, and wouldn't you know the disposable was no good! But we are getting ready to pack up what you saw in the photos today, and the kids are signing out yarn and hooks to take home over the two week break. Thanks to the donation from Damummis of the hooks, they all have their own hook! You would have thought I handed them money as excited as they got lol! We got the plastic ones through our Donorschoose, but I don't let them leave the school, they have to use them during club meeting, now they have one to work with at home. I signed us up with a local charity that supports Project Linus and t hey were kind enough to lower the age limit so the kids that complete a blanket of a certain size will get the free ticket to one of the Disney parks! I know at least 3 of them have family trips planned there this Summer, so I'm hoping they get done in time.

That is so awesome!!! These kids are amazing! You tell them how proud we are of them here on the Crochet Chat Thread!
So can I send a check so you can get more baby yarn?

Would one of you smart gals help me with a problem? You all post photos. I have but I have a terrible time doing it. I know how to do the upload bit and copy and paste but then my trouble starts. Do you write your message first and then go to up loads to get your photo and then copy and paste? When I try to do it that way I lose my message and have to start all over. Could someone tell me step by step, what to do to add the photo to the message? I sure would appreciate it. Thank you. Betty

I copy the url first then open up the thread I want to post to. After I click "post reply" I then hit "cntrl v" to paste. Once you've pasted it into the thread you can type wherever you like around it (I paste it first so I don't forget and copy something else onto the clipboard). You can always hit "preview" instead of submit, then scroll to the top of the page to see if you like how it looks. Once you get it looking the way you want then hit submit.
Oh, I do like to put a blank line between pics and text, or a few spaces, so that the text doesn't get lost right up against the pic.
Good luck! It took me a while to get the process down too and I did it by doing exactly what you're doing. Asking other BYCers for help.

thank you, thank you, thank you. I'll give it a try soon. What about multiple photos? Do you do it the same way? Do you copy and paste more than one at a time and then go to your post? The way I've been doing it I lose my post trying to copy and paste a second photo.
