Crochet "Chat"

Thank you, that's my goofball hen, Chuck. One of my other hens just recently hatched out 19 babies and there's SO much color in there! I'll never be able to let go of any of them, lol.

My husband wants me to make more granny squares in different colors so he and my son can sew them together and make a blanket.

Chuck is a good name for a goofball hen! I've never known another bird that hatched out so many eggs and was such a dedicated mother than the Muscovy. I'd much rather mess with a goose on eggs then come within 5' of a Muscovy either on eggs or out with her brood.

We've only had either white or the black/white combination for years and years. Then a couple of summers ago a friend gave us a blue & white hen. Next thing I know we have a brown & white duckling. This year, once again most our hatches are either white or black/white but a couple more brown and a couple blue & white combo have appeared. We're definitely keeping the blues and the browns. There is an owner of an oriental restaurant that will take as many live 'scovies as we can supply him. He won't be getting any of my new color!

We've had a couple of bad years of predation (coyote & raccoon) and were down to 3 drakes & about 5 hens. We've had at least 6 hatches this year (average clutch only 10), so we're swimming in ducklings!!

I picked up some yarn today to doodle with for the granny square swap. The colors I got: Claret Fleck, Gold, Buff, and Real Teal. I'm hoping they will look decent with one another.

That's awesome!!!! Sounds like a fun family project to do together. My hubby sews with my daughter. LOL!!! Get your hubby and son some crocheting hooks and they can crochet them together while you make them. That afghan will be put together in no time.

They sounds so pretty! I have beige, mustard, olive, brick, rust, dusty blue, & dusty purple. I've only used the mustard, olive, rust & brick so far.

I'm using gold, rust, light gold, brown and dark green. I have one more block to go so hope more people sign up and really make it fun. I've seen some lovely photos of blocks. I'll take pix of mine maybe tomorrow and post them.
