Crochet "Chat"

Chuck is a good name for a goofball hen! I've never known another bird that hatched out so many eggs and was such a dedicated mother than the Muscovy. I'd much rather mess with a goose on eggs then come within 5' of a Muscovy either on eggs or out with her brood.

We've only had either white or the black/white combination for years and years. Then a couple of summers ago a friend gave us a blue & white hen. Next thing I know we have a brown & white duckling. This year, once again most our hatches are either white or black/white but a couple more brown and a couple blue & white combo have appeared. We're definitely keeping the blues and the browns. There is an owner of an oriental restaurant that will take as many live 'scovies as we can supply him. He won't be getting any of my new color!

We've had a couple of bad years of predation (coyote & raccoon) and were down to 3 drakes & about 5 hens. We've had at least 6 hatches this year (average clutch only 10), so we're swimming in ducklings!!
