Isn't it amazing the abundance of free pattern resources available over the internet these days. I've printed off quite a few myself and have several of my fav free pattern sites book marked.

Thank you sooooo much for the pattern. I am itching to give it a try, but have to finish my swap squares first. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm getting much, much better at deciphering the abrev mumbo jumbo.

Thanks again!

Your welcome... I'm gettin alittle better too. I think they write the stuff harder than it needs to be, lol

You have a point there. I'm sure they can do the instructions a lot clearer. I like the patterns that give you a diagram with the names of the stitches. I bought my first pattern book like this when we lived on Okinawa in the 70's. Magic Crochet books are that way and I'm sure there must be more but I haven't seen one.

Here's some of the things I've been working on this week.

B-day present for a friend. A beanie head hugger w/ matching wrist warmers and goats milk soap.

Here's a better pic of the wrist warmer. I love them and they are so simple to whip up.

X-mas gift for my Sis (Beanie head hugger w/ matching arm warmers)

For another friend's B-day. I think I'll try crocheting the shell pattern hat to match them.

The idea of diagrams is encouraging. I love to crochet but cannot follow written instructions. My hats are all make-it-up-as-you-go.

I still make most of my hats on a "decide as I go along" basis. Hats are pretty forgiving that way. However sweaters aren't. The first sweater I made came out so adorable!!! However I quickly found out why a gauge is so important. I tried it on and it was miles too big! My sister got a very pretty, handmade sweater that year.

Now she has lost a bunch of weight and it swims on her as well. Too bad, it really is a gorgeous design.
