Croissants and pain au chocolat! Pic heavy

Brave souls!
I thought croissants were for the pros!

Ah, FrenchHen, memories of my stylish, sophisticated French professor: "Vite! Vite!" I hated French, but I had a schoolgirl crush on Mademoiselle L'Enfant...

I'm going to have to make these too one day, they look so good!
The kids counted out exactly how many each family member gets, heaven forbid they get shortchanged a croissant roll

Sounds just like our kids!

You did an Excellent Job with directions and pictures!! I think with your instructions I will give these a go this weekend!! Yummy can't wait, maybe it will take us back to our trip to Paris!!

"Big fat twerp". hrm. not a literal translation but a figurative one could be "enfoiree" (jerk) or "cochon" (pig). If it's a woman, you could say, "oh, la garce!" (oh, the b---h - connotes jealousy).

AngieChick - I made some orange marmalade today. Could there be a barter in our future?!?

I'm in serious KitchenAid envy these days. They're cheaper than I've ever seen them, around $299. DBF needs to buck up and ask me to marry him so that we can register for one!

I mean, seriously... it's not like we've been together for 5 years, 2 months, a week and 4 days or anything...

Cochon would do it.

I celebrated world Nutella day with them. The next day they were huddled around the leftover jar using their fingers to spread it on graham crackers.

Croissants and nutella...
MMMMM

You need to introduce them to crepes!

My HS French teacher use to make mousse au chocolat for us. She was a sweet woman and bought me a French-English dictionary that I still use, 20 years later (holy crud... how is it that I was in HS French 20 years ago?!?!).

Here's my recipe - it's so easy the kids could make it in class if there were a way for them to melt the chocolate.

Every year I do either a field trip or a French dinner.

We've made crepes, des trouffes, pain au chocolat (cheated and used puff pastry), la pizza, les croques monsieurs, poulet cordon bleu, un gratin, des haricots verts, salade verte, soupe a l'oignon, etc.

I got sick of French food so last year we made Moroccan.

MMMM.

I love cooking with them.

This year is a field trip year; we do a scavenger hunt in the zoo and visit St. Honore. they take Amtrak and the MAX to travel as Europeans might.
