Those shows are so big that you could know someone is showing there, but never see them. You are in Indiana so it is easier to put them in. There will be about 30 of us from Calif showing there.
Good birds can get lost in the crowd at this kind of show, so you stick them in and hope to win the lottery. Best of Breed will be very difficult in some of the breeds.

It is pretty normal to be nervous.

You will have a good time.

Thanks for encouragment! I already am conditioning and stuff for it plus the four or five smaller shows I'll attend this fall. This is also my first Ameraucana national I'm going to be showing in so I'll be showing against some of the greats! I don't expect to win but I don't want to look dumb either! LOL

There are some good Ameraucana's around and they will probably be at Crossroads. You will see where you are with your breeding and have a great chance to compare.

Good luck!

Looks like I'll be taking some vacation time for this one. Dave Anderson is judging Polish and I know of a few top polish breeders that are going to show just for that reason.

This will be fun!

Good news is, we will be leaving JACOB (7) at home with Grandma! I know everyone will miss him, but there is no way I am bringing him to Crossroads after his behaviour at Shawnee.

Competition will be tough, but if we condition our birds properly and have good quality stock, anyone can win!
