OMG- I know someone that left a bird. She plans on having it shipped back. Will the person that took it from the show give it back?

pips&peeps :

I saw a lone goose in the waterfowl hall when I cooped out; I was one of the last to go. He was all alone with no food or water and the coop card had been removed......

He was crying for someone to come and get him.

I would suggest you not disucuss the bird on any forum. Conatct Dave Wulff at the Poultry Press about getting it back. You do not want to give a description taht soemone else may use to get your bird.

In other words, keep the breed, variety, leg band # etc private and share only with the Wulffs.

I had no more room and was driving back to WA; I couldn't. I felt like heel leaving him there.

He was gone by the time I left I think, at least I didnt hear him, there were still a few straglers cooping out birds.

J. Ralph Brazelton, Master Breeder of Orpingtons back in the days gone by, always said: You never sell a champion bird, you breed them! My guess is Danny and Norma will NEVER let this bird go! It may never leave their home again either!

Heard that 13 birds were left at Crossroads. How could anyone forget their birds?

We made certain that we got ALL our birds and noone elses birds.

Anyone missing some birds?

On showbirdbid you mentioned that you accidentally TOOK HOME someone elses bird once. I presume leaving a bird happens the same way taking someone elses bird does- lack of time to double check, being busy, being distracted. It happens. Poop happens. For such a BIG show I'm shocked only 13 birds were left.

I say this because I happen to know of someone who left a bird and it was an accident, just as your shocking discovery upon getting home from one show was just an accident. Hope everyone can recover their birds if they are looking for them.

I DID NOT take someone elses bird. My kids did. That will never happen again...I hope. Thankfully it was a friend's and we were able to send it back to him at the next show. Accidents happen. A friend left a Jap hen at a show. called the next day when she noticed it was missing. A friend had taken it home for her.
