Crows...

Oh, yes! I forgot to mention that they will chase hawks off as well! It's hilarious! Once I heard this awful racket when I was with my chickens, and I quickly looked up to see what it was.
I caught a glance of a hawk above the trees, and at least 20+ crows chasing the poor thing. Well, not exactly "poor thing", I have had many hawks that try to get my girls, thankfully with no successful attacks yet :D

I have robins nesting under my deck every season. Last summer, they hatched 3 broods of chicks. Of all those chicks, not a single one was fledged successfully. The crows ate the babies as they came off the nest, and the few the crows didn't get, my chickens did. I was absolutely disgusted by such behavior. Yeah, they're just doing what they do... but I was so not impressed.

I have so many crows around here you wouldn't believe it, but they will eat and forage with my flock. And I haven't had a problem with them in the 5 years that I have been keeping chickens. They'll hang out with roosters, hens, pullets, cockerels, etc.
They will mob and chase away any Aerial predators coming near your flock , they are an asset to you!

Exactly! I didn't see your post, but I completely agree!

H. They are what they are! You can't judge them by Human morality standards.

Yeah, I know. And I do appreciate their early warning system and occasionally giving chase to the hawks that hang out in the woods line behind my coops. But, they have a huge devastating effect on the song birds in my yard.

Scary! This crow was massive and pretty close to my ducks..

Would they try and eat their food?
I have a bunch of crows that hang around all summers. I had problems with them scarfing up half a bowl of feed at a time until I started feeding the chickens in portions. I like them around, though, because I also have hawk issues.

I have never had a crow go after any bird of mine.

Yes, but it is the natural way, on the other hand feral cats aren't and they really HAVE A HUGE effect on wildlife.

No feral cats here. The fishers, coyotes, and fox keep them in check. Dealing with rats since last summer. Haven't had issue with them for over 30 years! There's a couple of small horse farms within 1/4 mile of me, so where there's food, the rats will come. You have rats in Israel???

Ofcorse! Rats are synanthropic animals, where ever you find humans you will find Rats!
