Here is Tina and her adoptive babies. The eggs belonged to two other hens but she went broody and stole them!
Papa Kip was leading momma and babies around the yard today, watching for UFOs (ie crows, airplanes, etc) and finding food. He wasn't too into a photo op, though!

Momma is a bantam Partridge Cochin. I love their little feet! They look so cute running across the yard!

Oh, they are adorable! I remember the pictures of Tina with the babies and how you said she was being such a good mom. I'm glad you posted this update. What a sweet family.

Tina was born to be a mommy. This is her second clutch. She hatched four eggs and adopted 5 babies the first time she was a mom. She seems to like being a mom of TWO better than NINE!

The nine were "booted out" at four weeks. Poor Tina had had it at that point. These little ones are almost five weeks and she still sleeps with them at night. She loves being a mom.
Kip the roo loves being a dad, too. It's so funny... the four of them will tromp around the yard like a little family and Kip will find food for the babies. Kip loves all his ladies, but when Tina is around, he only has eyes for her.
