Darn you, BYC!

What if you boil them and give them to your birds as a treat? (they love hard boiled eggs! even though that seems VERY ODD) That way they are going to good use for future happy eggs!

Ha, you are so pregnant!

I completely get it and I've never been pregnant!! My husband won't even eat sad eggs now, it's catchy

One person can make a difference and you should be proud that you are not contributing to the sadness of chickens- good for you

If everyone took a stand to only eat happy eggs (or meat) then maybe there would be no sad animals

Now that we have chickens it is hard to believe we ever lived without them. It was very difficult (even in our small rural town) to find free range eggs of any kind. Our local Walmart, of all places, started offering them. But, our eggs are so much better than those or even the roadside stand ones. I think its the excellent lifestyle they enjoy in our backyard. Grass, chicken feed, bugs, left overs, treats, and pettings. It is a very expensive hobby in terms of start up costs. Coop and all the wood for renovations, feeders, waterers and whatever else you can't live without. Once that you have invested in the start up implements the upkeep isn't bad.....especially in the warm months when grass and bugs can make up a larger part of their diet. For us they are an ideal pet. We have 6 very tame friendly chickens who basically take care of themselves. They give us more eggs than we can eat so our neighbors and friends all benefit via the egg trickledown effect

. If we leave for longer than a day we need to find somebody to shut the coop up for us and to collect eggs.

That is the exact reason I started raising my own. I was not going to promote that kind of industry. You are not crazy. Never thought about it but maybe thats why store bought eggs taste so bland. There is no love in them. Just sadness. Makes me cry to think about it and I am not pregnant just menopausal.

Turn your sad eggs into a cake. Then they will be happy because you can enjoy the cake and you can eat the whole thing if you want. Your having a baby so you can do that.
