It’s not uncommon for a duckling to hatch before or after day 28
28 is a general by the book. But heat and humidity can play a part in early or late hatching
Did you calibrate a thermometer and hygrometer and place them in the bator ?
A little off on the regular 37.5 or 99.5 can cause it
I have had them hatch day 24-30
Different batches
You can candle in place where it sits in the bator until you see an internal pip then make sure to leave things alone from there unless he doesn’t external
Yoy can also carefully check the egg over for a bruise
When I candle after lockdown I make sure not to move the baby from the way it lays in the bator
I will also lift the egg up and look under for bruising but not turn the egg at all
Don’t try to help this baby hatch as it’s harmful to open the egg when baby isn’t ready
Have you noticed and rocking of the egg ? Has the air cell dropped forward fast on one side of the egg ? Do you see shadowing or pushing against the air cell when candling ?
These 3 things are what happens a few days before the internal pip

Hi! I am incubating duck eggs and I candled them last night as I was worried since there was no shaking of the eggs or chirping and they are on day 27 and 28, I saw movement in all of them but am unsure wether they have internally pipped, they have definitely bot externally pipped aswell. Do you think this is an internal pip?

They look like they are pressing against the membrane almost to internal pip. Do not use chirping and egg shaking to determine life with hatching eggs. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t, but it does not mean anything if they do not. Even if there is no movement at this stage it does not mean dead eggs. With a dead duckling when there are this developed it will start to separate from the air cell. You will notice a space growing in-between where the duckling was and the air cell as if it was receding back into the egg. Every picture you posted is currently a live egg.

The air cell doesn’t look like it’s dipped forward yet
Right before baby internal pips it goes forward pretty fast
It might just be the pictures though
As long as there is veins I don’t worry
Some babies hatch early , some late and some on time
The only thing I do is look for internal pips and if none I look for bruising in case baby is in the wrong end. If no bruising then I wait another day and check again
