So we have a day old chick that started going down hill pretty fast a second ago. We gave some nutridrench to see if it would help her but it looks as if she is choking and she can’t seem to swallow and has some water/nutridrench coming up her throat. I don’t know if it’s because we fed her through a syringe. She is also very vocal and is constantly chirping. She also can’t stand on her feet and falls over when you set her down. We think she’s going to die put would still like to know what’s going on and if there is any we can do to help her. Thanks.

You may have squirted the liquid down into her lungs and is now drowning. I NEVER syringe a chick so small because of the risks.

It is only a day old, what was its problems before the nutridrench? Why did you believe to syringe it?

I would quickly turn it upside down if its still gasping to see if it can cough it up.

Yes, a day old and we just put a drop on her beak we didn’t stick the syringe down her beak. She was very weak so we gave her some.

Sorry, when you said fed her through a syringe in the main post, I thought you meant you stuck it down her beak.

There could be reasons why she was so weak. But we need more info.

What is the brooder setup like? Was she huddled away from the heat lamp or right under it?
What are you feeding them? Do you have multiple chicks with her?
Where did you source her from your own eggs, a friend, ect?
Since shes only a day old, she could just be a weak chick and may not make it. But lets see what we can do first
