69 eggs in lock-down a few minutes ago!!
Amazing, what a great hatch 39/42 eggs. Your chicks are so cute, sorry about you 2 little ones dying. I had 24 eggs go into lockdown, 17 hatched, one died day 19 in the shell, 3 pipped malpositioned which required my assistance with hatching, they each died within 24 hours. I have 6 in the incubator yet, will do float test tomorrow.
I've got 2 hatched and 6 pips so far for tomorrow's hatch. There's a bantam out and he's SOOO teeny tiny! A lot of the eggs are smaller this hatch so there's a little more room so I'm going to try and leave the hatched ones in there till they're all out...we'll see how that goes, they sure are knocking the rest around already though and that makes me a bit crazy. I still have a few live eggs from last Wednesday's hatch which is odd, hopefully I'll get some action out of them tonight. I'm off for a nap before its time to check the water again.
We are on Day 20 and have heard a few peeps from the eggs but no external pips yet! 19 of the 26 eggs we set made it to lockdown, 4 were infertile and 3 died early on.
Am excited, a bit nervous and cautiously optimistic all at the same time!
Oh!!! Good luck ...sounds like you are doing great!!!
