Delay in Submitting Posts

Thanks for all the great details! Ya, that would be annoying to wait 15+ seconds for a post to be submitted!

Did anything change on your computer before it started happening? Does the same thing happen from another browser or different computer or even mobile device?

Any other members having this problem? If so, please please see the information here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/troubleshooting-byc-problems-bugs-error-messages-other-issues

If none of those things help, please come back to this post and reply with all the information requested in that article above, especially:

1)  Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)

2)  Have you deleted your internet cache / browser history of files and tried again?

3)  Have you tried a different browser? This allows you to test if it is a browser specific problem vs. a computer / network problem. We suggest Google Chrome or Firefox.

I just powered down my devices, we'll see if that's it. I do use Google Chrome.

Is it just that thread or other threads? Sometimes we have problems with really really long threads.

We've had pretty solid success over the years with pretty good speed (for most users), and in almost all cases of problems like this, it's either related to addons / extensions in the user's browsers, or issues with really long threads, or... in some rare cases, we need to tweak server settings or restart the servers.

The more people we have reporting the issue with details on browsers, steps to repeat, etc. the easier it will be for our tech team to look for, duplicate, and fix the problem!

Hey Nifty

No, it is not just the NFC thread, the examples I gave earlier today were from the New Members Introduction Forum and one of the examples was from posting in this thread.

I have not experienced any speed issues in the past and this has only been for the last couple of days.

As mentioned, supposed to be working at the moment so I will not push my luck too much by testing other browsers etc but if no-one else provides any further information, I will do that this evening.

Regards
Teila

So, I had a few minutes and tested in Microsoft Edge and 21 seconds to submit on this New Member Introduction: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1148937/el-gallo73#post_17958680

So, is an issue for me on both Chrome and Edge in Windows 10 Professional:

Edited to Add: The submission of this post itself took 19 seconds so I have edited it to add that.

Further information/ Record of steps taken:

  1. Type up response in Word.
  2. Copy & paste into thread via ‘bottom’ Post a Reply option.
  3. Add 2 x emoticons.
  4. Select ‘Submit’.

So far up to 21 seconds for post to submit. No other error messages or prompts. Just the below and then the post appears as per usual.

Issue is in Edge and Chrome [as per above] and across multiple threads.

No, actually it started happening a couple of days ago, I believe Saturday our time. As I mentioned, I thought it was just me and it was not until someone else mentioned today that they were having issues that I thought it best to report it.

I've been having the same issues on mobile... for same time period... also thought it was just my phone or our service but others have said the same in the last day as well... I hit reply and I get the spinning circle and it keeps going, and going, and going... :/

ETA:
