You don't have to worry. The post office will call you to come pick them up. You're actually supposed to check them in the presence of a post office worker and sign for them when you pick the chicks up.

Then put that in. Also I’d call your local post office to see if they will hold your birds there and give you a call to pick them up. It may be warmer for them that way. Good luck with your new chicks!
