Oh, my that is an expensive chickie!!! Congrats on saving it!!!Thanks to Sally Sunshine I was able to save the one lone survivor of an expensive and terrible hatch. This sweet baby was peeping away on Day 22 so I made a small pip and then slowly more following her directions. Here she is in the egg and a few days later. She was peeping the whole time I was assisiting her out of the shell. I never had any blood. I call her my $200. chicken.

The only thing I can think off is dried egg fluid. What does her navel and the surrounding skin look like? It would help if you can get a pic of it, if possible.Sumi, do you know why there is white stuff around Bella's black naval? I can't get a picture unless she is upside down.
Sorry to hear about your hatch! Gosh, $200 that is a very expensive chick! And she looks like she knows it tooThanks to Sally Sunshine I was able to save the one lone survivor of an expensive and terrible hatch. They are beautiful! Congrats! Sally's going to be thrilled when she sees this. What did Hope think of the newbies?
I found her thread. It doesn't look active anymore, but I posted anyways. I'll try sending her a pm later today, thanks! You two should talk to kevin565. She's into fish, used to moderate a fish forum too. I'm not sure what she's got, but she mentioned a koi recently. She's lovely to talk to also. Shoot her a PM?
