I didn't know about the preen gland! But after looking at several pictures, I think you're right and that's what it is. I've given her a warm Epsom salts bath and electrolyte water. She seems livelier today so here's hoping. Thanks, again, everyone!

She's still having the weird contractions but has seemed livelier. I've given her an epsom salt bath every day. I still don't see or feel anything.

Have you given her a calcium supplement too...something like a 1/4 of a "Tums" tablet? It will help her to expel the egg if that is indeed the problem.
