Kiddy pool is filled and ducks have started to play in the water full time.

missed you guys also I just kinda have had a shut down for a bit, way to much emotional choas of late... I like/need a nice grounded calm home life...starting to feel like my heads twisting back into place......
anyone seen @vehve ? must be working his buns off with the new job

Well.... Talking about stress (or not) i have a couple happy spots to share:

So.. I had four ducklings hatch sorta Monday through Wednesday (taling of, @BriardChickens was your last set of duck eggs? Did any of the hatch?)

Then I had three little bantam chicks hatch Thursday and Friday.

I looked at the four Muscovy ducks, and the three SUPER tiny bantam chicks (d'anvers) and put them together! :th

The ducks have been sweet with them, even when the tiny bantams have pecked at their eyes and their beaks asking for food I guess :idunno

Still fine, no deaths.... Boggles my mind.... But very nice.

Also, broody number, I dunno, three or four, looks like she is staying broody after I set her up in the white chicken tractor!! If tomorrow is warm and sunny, or at least decent, I will see if she will take the three little chicks. The last few hens that I moved over to the tractor said that being moved was enough to break them.

Random .... With all of these bantam d'anvers growing up... I have posted my Wyandotte quad for sale... Their rate of lay barfs big time... So my interest in them has waned. I posted them with a price a little on the high side... So they might not sell.... Which might be OK too.... I would like to keep the numbers in my bantam coop as low as possible, because I am a bit crazy about good square footage... But there is lots of space in there, especially if you wanna do the 4 square foot or less per bird stuff (I prefer 9 square feet of covered space per bird).

what kinda wyandottes? I thought you liked them and wow my wyandottes are my best layers rain or shine cold or heat so far......

Amberjem, take all the time you need. We understand but look forward to having you back!

Vehve is also absent.... Hmm

Alaskan, I had none hatch. Opened all the eggs on Wednesday only to find all dead. Some had the yolk absorbed others still had to absorb. I think they all died ~3-5 days before they were due. (2 separate hatch dates). I think something didn't go right with the incubator. Going to sell it and get something more reliable. The hovabator hasn't been good to me
