A friend of mine was into Scorpions big time. Sort of ruined it for me, although he was worse with Def Leppard. Only so many times you can listen to "Pour some sugar on me" without starting to go crazy.

Bad vocals can definately ruin a good song. A lot of new metal have those completely brutal vocals that make me think of a dinosaur having a bowel movement. I don't understand the appeal of that.......but to each his own.

Very Metallica like intro in the live version somehow. I'm a bti annoyed by the lead vocalist's voice though. He's a bit whiny somehow. A giant whining puff of hair. Seriously, he looks like Sideshow Bob in this video.

Any Finnish metal bands you guys are into? That's actually about the only genre Finland seems to do okay in. Of course, the all time best Finnish rock band is Hanoi Rocks. They were never that popular in North America, but they've influenced acts like Mötley Crüe, Guns n' Roses and Skid Row.

It depends on the band and the song if I can take that type of vocal.

I usually label that stuff as "Norwegian death metal", makes no difference where the band is from. Really not my kind of music. I think that dinosaur pooping description is pretty accurate. And then there's the "torturing a cat" variety too, sounds like a banshee screaming, I really dislike that too.
