I've got some old cages and I think I can fab the up to work in the chicken barn. They are the screw on type.

That is what I have on the one light bulb in the coop end of the barn that they are near. It is an old "cage" that clamps on the neck of the porcelain light fixture and is tighten with a screw. Mine never busted a light out but would crowd near it for warmth and crack the bulb at the base. The "cage" works wonders. PS-Thanks for letting me know on the BLRWs, she doesn't want to breed, just have some laying hens that are pretty.

Come on spring! It's supposed to warm up just enough next week to snow another
6" on top of the 15" we already have.

Our snow is slowly evaporating away... I think there's about 4 inches left. We should get some more in the beginning of next week.
