I have the prettiest little easter egger that you would swear is pure ameraucana. You might get closer to 50% like Alaskan said, brain is fried today... breeding EE's is a crap shoot on colors is all, you might do well though...![]()
I had to read it 5 or 6 times to get it... :/Ugh! Now I see it... feel like an idiot now...![]()
see, now you make it look like it's a good idea againA green egg from an EE will most likely have one (not two) copies of the Blue Egg Gene. So, any chicks from that EE have a 50% chance of getting that Blue Egg Gene.
The Blue Egg Gene is dominant, any chick that gets it will express it (but of course, no way to know if a rooster got it, except by breeding it)
where did the ee come.from?see, now you make it look like it's a good idea again![]()

ive seen pure ameraucana lay green eggs. Egg color is subjective to the viewer."from a farm, down the road", I was told she's pure Ameraucana by the farmer but then she lays green eggs. She's got the cheek muffs.
Daddy would be a large black Orpington rooster.
Just realized i might get a comb with that breeding. NOPE, not here!
