Do Cayuga take longer? (Hatching)

Cayuga eggs are almost black early in the season, turning lighter as it goes until they are blue. What colour were your eggs?

Most were a dark grey and a few were grey almost creamy white

Not sure exactly but from what I can tell, the head color looks similar to what my WH hens looked like as ducklings

Huh, weird. I remember my WH eggs *not* being any gray shade. Maybe another drake got in.

The lady told me she keeps her flock in separate pens.
And it's halfway there

I may have a problem
I checked on them again and duckling #1 broke more of their shell so I can see inside more. I see a tiny bit of yolk.
I have not touched either one aside to check on them so I haven't messed with their shells

Hopefully, they will finish absorbing before they pop out all the way. How are they looking this morning?

Duckling #1 died
Duckling #2 is still going though and they won't be alone as Wilco got ducklings in today so I'm heading out now to pick up 2 females as they get sexed ducklings

I'm sorry. Sounds so much like my own experience last year with WH eggs.
