Do chickens ever lay two eggs per day?

I have had two eggs laid by one girl in one day a few times over the years. I think one may have been laid during the night and the next during the day. I collect the eggs in the evenings before they go to roost.

I have a little hen who has, on multiple occasions, laid two eggs in one day. I've had at least three weeks where in a span of three days I've gotten 5 eggs from her. She lays a little larger than bantam sized eggs, even though she's a Favorelle, but she's an odd one the whole way round. She often makes a ton of noise on those days too, like she's showing off. My Brahma has had two double days too, except she lays giant golfballs.

We traded one of our little roos for a hen. I was told she is just over a year old. She is a Cochin/ JUngle Fowl mix. She is the only layer we have at the moment as 3 are only 8 weeks and 1 is 10 weeks old. I heard her doing her egg song and went to check. There was 2 warm eggs in the nesting box! I have never seen this before. I had to look it up to see if it was possible. I don't think the 10 week old is old enough to lay yet. Am I right?

It can happen. She could have laid an egg last night and one this morning. I have found more eggs in a nest box than birds so someone laid a second egg.

I have an 8 month old that has been lying 2 eggs at the same time daily. One always a double yoke. At least once a week one egg is soft shell and the other no shell. Is there a way to help her regulate her reproductive system. I feel bad she is working so hard. I wish I could help her get a break

What are you feeding the birds and are you supplying any oyster shells. Just curious.

Sometimes pullets do have some oddities where they can lay more than one egg at a time but not usually. Her reproductive system may be still working out some kinks. Are you actually seeing her lay more than one egg at a time?

I have a cochin hen who started laying 3 days ago..and she has given 2 eggs each day so far....

Are you sure she is laying 2 eggs a day and there isn't another bird laying? Have you actually seen her lay the eggs? It's not impossible but unusual. I have had it happen but rarely.
