Do chickens have stomach acid?

i know the gizzard grinds up the food but do chickens have the same HCl as humans? and if they do, is it as acidic as humans? i want to know if the nail my chicken ate can pass thru his system or dissolved in his stomach

Their stomach is very similar to ours and swine. So I imagine it will pass. Regardless, any vet procedure is going to cost more than the bird is worth (at least monetarily); so I would take a "wait and see" approach.
