I have my chicks and ducks and goslings all in together. . .the last couple of days some of the chick poop has looked a little "off." Today there was quite a bit of chick poop with blood in it. . .So I am guessing they have cocci? Can my ducklings and goslings get it too? Is the antibiotic (corrid, I think) safe for them?
Ugh.

Oh great, now I can really freak out.
All of my birds have been exposed.
What are some treatment options for them?? I am not sure what I can find around here.
Should I go ahead and treat them if they don't have any symptoms?
Would it help to put them on medicated feed?

No longer true, ducklings can eat medicated feed now. Used to be they put an antibiotic in "medicated feed" that ducks should not eat, but no longer true since they started using amprolium as the med. Have no idea whether goslings can also tolerate this.

Check our specledhen's posts about amprolium and cocci. Corid is amprolium. Sulamet is also an approach but rougher on them.
