Step kids is all I have. My first word was "sausage" and I never shut up after that

I was also the only child whose first word wasn't mama. I think my mother resented that...she has an otherwise perfect track record.

My other four kids first words werent as quite as memorable as that daughters.....oldest sons first word was "buppa" translation for "puppy", which was appropriate because we never did NOT have dogs around. Another daughters was "mama" again appropriate because she was always a mamas girl. Even now. Its rare if I dont hear from her at least once a day. My middle daughters first word was "ba ba" (bottle) and youngest sons was "no".
Sigh. That same daughter that said the expletive was also memorable for her first phrase. My husband and father in law always said "D***" before a sentence. One day in the car, she looked out and it was raining. She said "D***, its water! D*** its wet!!!.Her other phrase that her older siblings still laugh about was when my husband was pulled over for a tail light. She started jumping up and down and yelled "Run Daddy!! Its the cops!!!"

Steven's first words were "Sam! No!". Sam was the dog that taught him to walk long before he was a year old. He would grab Sam's long hair and Sam would stand up and walk the baby! I'd hollar "Sam! No! Sit!" He would sit and Steven would scream. But I have it written down in his baby book along with a picture of Sam teaching him to walk.

ETA: My mom just informed me my first words were " 'scuse me" because I wanted attention. She said I was born polite, I'll die politely.
